My Awkward Sexual Adventure named one of TIFF's 2012 Top Ten and wins Audience Award at Whistler Film Festival

Jonas Chernick's latest feature film, My Awkward Sexual Adventure, has been selected by the Toronto International Film Festival's Top Ten list, as one of the ten best Canadian films of 2012. It appears alongside an esteemed group of movies, including Oscar-nominated Deepa Mehta's Midnight's Children, David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis, Canada's Oscar submission for Best Foreign Language Film Rebelle and Sarah Polley's award-winning Stories We Tell. Chernick wrote, produced, and stars in the film, which will be showcased at the TIFF's Top Ten screenings at Toronto's TIFF Bell Lightbox Cinemas, January 4 - 13, 2013. My Awkward Sexual Adventure also won the coveted Audience Award at last week's Whistler Film Festival, where audiences voted it as their favorite movie of the festival. Awkward previously won the People's Choice Award at September's Calgary International Film Festival. It will be released across Canada in April 2013.
