My Awkward Sexual Adventure wins two Canadian Comedy Awards

Last night at the Centerpointe Theatre in Ottawa, My Awkward Sexual Adventure picked up the award for Best Female Performance in a Feature for Emily Hampshire's portrayal of Julia Bowe, and Best Direction in a Feature for Sean Garrity at the 14th Annual Canadian Comedy Awards. Hampshire was in attendance to accept her award, while writer/producer/star Jonas Chernick accepted Garrity's award on his behalf. The film was also nominated for four other awards, including Best Film, which went to Michael Dowse's Goon. My Awkward Sexual Adventure, currently available on iTunes and Netflix in the USA, and iTunes and VOD in Canada, is also nominated for the Directors Guild of Canada Award for Best Feature Film, with the ceremony scheduled for October 26 in Toronto. The movie has recently enjoyed successful theatrical releases in Russia, Hong Kong and Spain.
