"Place — 13 Filmmakers, 13 Essays, 1 City" book launch tonight

The Winnipeg Film Group's 136-page collection of essays explores the lives and artistic visions of 13 Manitoba feature film directors. Jonas Chernick's entry, entited Sean Garrity, The Unwitting Patriarch: Musings from the Middle was singled out by Uptown Magazine as "Perhaps the most humorous and poignant chapter... and delves into how the two first met at an audition for one of Garrity's short films and the rocky road of scripting together". The book is now available at McNally Robinson Booksellers, at the Winnipeg Film Group offices and on their secure website.
