The Prague Orgy now shooting in Prague
Jonas Chernick has been announced as the lead in the Czech-Canada co-production of The Prague Orgy, a feature film adaptation of Philip Roth's book of the same name. The film is written and directed by Irena Pavlaskova, whose 1989 feature Time of The Servants was an award winner at the Cannes Film Festival and is widely regarded as one of the most important films in the history of Czech Republic. In the film, Chernick plays Nathan Zuckerman, Philip Roth's oft-utilized protagonist and alter ego of the famous writer himself. The Prague Orgy tells the story of Zuckerman's dangerous trip to Soviet-occupied Prague in 1976, where he must infiltrate a community of artists and dissidents who engage in wild, underground orgies, and where he attempts to extract a mysterious manuscript from the clutches of the notorious Olga - ring leader of the famed orgies. Chernick stars alongside Russian / Italian movie star Kseniya Rappoport and Czeck star Pavel Kriz in the film, which is slated for release in fall 2019. Shooting occurs in Prague, Czech Republic until the end of October.
