Rehearsals underway for Mirvish / Studio 180 production of Oslo
Jonas Chernick will play the role of lead Israeli negotiator Uri Savir in the political drama Oslo, now rehearsing in Toronto. The Tony award winning play will have its English language Canadian premiere at the CAA Theatre (formerly the Panasonic), with previews starting on February 9. Oslo tells the unbelievable true story of the back room secret negotiations of the Oslo Accords peace treaty between Israel and the P.L.O. which culminated in the historic handshake between Yassar Arafat and Yitzhak Rabin on Bill Clinton's White House lawn in 1993. Chernick stars alongside an all-star cast of Canadian theatre veterans including Jordan Pettle, Sanjay Talwar, Blair Williams, Sarah Orenstein, Alex Poch-Goldin and Patrick Galligan. The play is directed by Joel Greenberg, who directed Chernick in Studio 180's 2016 production of My Name is Asher Lev.
