James Vs His Future Self to screen at Toronto After Dark Film Festival
Just days after Jeremy LaLonde's sci-fi comedy feature James Vs His Future Self screened as the Opening Night Gala at the 33rd annual Edmonton International Film Festival, the film added a Toronto premiere to its 2019 fall festival slate. On Oct. 18, in the coveted Friday night slot, James Vs His Future Self will screen at the Toronto After Dark Film Festival in downtown Toronto. Widely considered one of the top ten most important genre film festivals in the world, Toronto After Dark is famous for their large, enthusiastic audiences and their annual showcase of the best action, horror and science fiction films of the year. James Vs His Future Self has played several festivals in Canada over the past few weeks, including the Opening slot in Edmonton, the Calgary International Film Festival and Cinefest Sudbury International Film Festival, all to sold-out theatres and enthusiastic audiences. LaLonde's fifth feature stars Jonas Chernick as James, a time-travelling obsessed scientist on the verge of a major discovery, who is confronted by his off-kilter future self, played by veteran actor Daniel Stern (Home Alone, City Slickers, Diner). Chernick also wrote the screenplay with LaLonde, and produced alongside Jordan Walker and Jonathan Bronfman. Many of the filmmakers and cast will be in attendance at the Toronto After Dark screening, including director / writer LaLonde, star / writer / producer Chernick, actors Tommie-Amber Pirie and Tara Spencer Nairn, and many more. Tickets will go on sale on October 4 at www.torontoafterdark.com.
