Cinema of Sleep to compete for Borsos Award at Whistler Film Festival
Jeffrey St. Jules's Cinema of Sleep, co-starring Jonas Chernick, will compete for the coveted Borsos Award at the 2021 Whistler Film Festival. The film, shot in Winnipeg in 2019 before the pandemic, premiered at the the 2021 Santa Barbara International Film Festival, won a Special Jury Prize at the Skip City International D-Cinema Festival, and was nominated for Outstanding Directorial Achievement at the Directors Guild of Canada Awards. In the film, Chernick plays Frank - a mysterious resident at a roadside motel. Chernick will be in attendance at Whistler for the screening on Saturday, December 4, and is also attending the festival as the Screenwriter Mentor for the Whistler Talent Lab.
