Ashgrove announced as Opening Night Gala at Cinefest Sudbury International Film Festival
Ashgrove, produced by, written by and starring Jonas Chernick, will be the Opening Night Gala at the 2022 Cinefest Sudbury International Film Festival. The film, co-written by director Jeremy LaLonde and star Amanda Brugel (The Handmaid's Tale) recently sold to US distributor Good Deed Entertainment, UK company (Yet Another) Distribution Company and international sales agent Cardinal XD. Following the Gala screening at Cinefest on Sept. 17, Ashgrove will screen at several additional soon-to-be-announced festivals across Canada, leading up to its release in Canada, the US and the UK on Dec. 2. The film, which world premiered at the Glasgow Film Festival in March 2022, picked up two awards at the Canadian Film Festival in March 2022, and marks Brugel's screenwriting debut.
