Ashgrove nominated for two ACTRA Awards
Ashgrove, Jeremy LaLonde's 2022 psychological thriller, has picked up two nominations for the 2023 ACTRA Awards. Jonas Chernick, who also co-wrote and produced the film, has been nominated for Outstanding Performance Gender Non-Conforming or Male, and Christine Horne has been nominated for Outstanding Performance Gender Non-Conforming or Female. This is Chernick's third ACTRA Award nomination, after receiving noms in 2009 for his work on the CBC drama series The Border and in 2013 for his work in the comedy feature My Awkward Sexual Adventure. The Ashgrove nominations are the latest in a string of accolades for the film, including two awards at last year's Canadian Film Festival and two nominations at the upcoming 2023 Canadian Screen Awards. The ACTRA Awards will hand out their trophies at a live event on April 26.
