WGC Awards Nominates The Burning Season for Best Feature Film

The Burning Season has been nominated for Best Feature Film by the Writers Guild of Canada, for the screenplay by Diana Frances and Jonas Chernick, who also produces and stars in the film. This marks Chernick's first WGC Award nomination, and comes on the heels of the film winning Best Screenplay at the 2023 Whistler Film Festival. The Burning Season is set as the Closing Night Gala of the 2024 Can Film Festival, and will soon after be theatrically released across Canada, after a successful international premiere at the Glasgow Film Festival. The WGC Awards will be handed out at a live event on May 13, 2024.
