The Burning Season wins Best Feature Film at WGC Awards, Opens in Select Theatres
After recent jury awards for Best Screenplay at the Whistler Film Festival and the Canadian Film Fest, The Burning Season has been awarded Best Feature Film by the Writers Guild of Canada. Writers Jonas Chernick (who also produced and starred in the film) and Diana Frances were on hand to accept the award during the ceremony last night at Toronto's Koerner Hall. The Burning Season opened in select theatres across Canada last Friday, May 10, and is currently showing at Toronto's Cineplex Varsity Cinema and the Cineplex MacGillvary Cinema in Winnipeg, with more cities to be announced shortly. The Burning Season will make its streaming / Pay TV debut on Canada's Hollywood Suite in August 2024, before airing on CBC in September 2025.
