Production wraps on indie feature Young Female Playwright
Production wrapped today in Toronto on the indie feature Young Female Playwright, written by, produced by, and starring Ellie Moon. The dark comedy is the debut feature film by director Pony Nicole Herauf, and features a cast including Moon, Rick Roberts, Claudia Dey, Raoul Bhaneja, Karen Knox, Colin Mochrie and Jonas Chernick. The film examines the journey of a 20-something playwright premiering her new work at Canada's largest theatre, when the community, the press, and everyone in her life become convinced that her ambiguous themes of sexual assault are, in fact, autobiographical. The film is Moon's follow-up to her hit debut feature Adult Adoption, which played the Glasgow Film Festival in 2022 to much critical acclaim. Young Female Playwright is eyeing a 2025 release.
